I can't find how to renew a tenancy. Do I have to end the current tenancy and start them on a new one each time? With hundreds of properties this is going to be cumbersome. A renewal feature would be best, then we wouldn't have to input all the details again, just the new date. Also, is there a way to print reports for things like rents overdue, or even create our own reports using the information we've input on the system? Just printing the screen doesn't look very professional. In all this is a good system, but there are a few tweeks here and there that will help so much.
Chris Horne will reply re the technicalities; but also consider the legalities. Yes, L and T can enter into a renewal ['replacement'] letting even before the old one ends; in that case, there's a deemed surrender of the old one. BUT beware the effects. L will: a. need to reprotect deposit; and b. possibly need to obtain new consents (mortgagee [lender] if the property is mortgaged; lessor [freeholder] if the property is leasehold).
Hi, Thanks to Jeffrey for those legal points. We don't have a renewal button at the moment but I think you are right this would be a useful addition. As regards to a tenancy report. Just click on the tenancy button on the left then select the relevant tenancy. You will then have links to downloads and forms shown below. Just click on the tenancy report and that will download as a PDF which is automatically formatted to print. Hope this helps. Chris
