Landlords searching for a Buy-to-Let Mortgage - Tips and advice

Many landlords like the idea of searching independently for a buy-to-let mortgage.  This is because a landlord wants to feel that they are getting the best possible deal on their BTL loan whether this is the lowest possible interest rate or maybe the smallest mortgage application fee.

Landlords are rightly sceptical about employing somebody else to find them a buy-to-let mortgage knowing ultimately that a mortgage broker or intermediary will be doing it only to make money out of them. 

A large number of landlords, although still a minority, decide to go it alone and search independently for their own buy-to-let mortgage.  The advantage for a landlord of doing this is that they avoid having to pay a BTL mortgage broker’s fee.

One of the biggest difficulties facing a landlord who searches independently for their buy-to-let mortgage is identifying which of the lenders provide buy-to-let mortgages and then which of these actually
